Tensions Sénégal–Maroc : le CUP du PSG apporte un soutien fort à Ibrahim Mbaye
Having won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal at a tournament marred by significant tensions, Ibrahim Mbaye can count on the unequivocal support of Paris Saint-Germain fans. The Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) has publicly declared its support for the young Parisian talent, who has been the target of persistent animosity since the final against Morocco.
The wave of tension stemming from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final continues to be felt far beyond the pitches of Africa. In Paris, it was in this highly emotional context that the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) chose to take a stand. On Wednesday, during the match against Newcastle (1-1) for the final matchday of the Champions League group stage, the iconic PSG supporters displayed a clear message of support for Ibrahim Mbaye.
The 18-year-old Senegalese striker found himself unwittingly at the center of post-AFCON tensions, along with several other Senegalese players, following the Lions of Teranga's victory against Morocco (1-0, after extra time). The CUP (Collectif Ultras Paris) felt compelled to denounce this situation in its own way, advocating for unity and respect.
Unfurled in the stands of the Parc des Princes, an unequivocal banner summed up the state of mind of the Parisian ultras: "With us, no division, all proud of you champion!" A message addressed directly to Ibrahim Mbaye, in a symbolic moment, as the PSG prodigy faced Achraf Hakimi on the pitch, his opponent in the final played on January 18 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat.
With this gesture, the CUP reiterated that Paris Saint-Germain remains a club where diversity and fraternity take precedence over national rivalries. This strong support should be significant for Ibrahim Mbaye, who is now more than ever urged to focus on his sporting development, far removed from off-field controversies.
