Week-end des Sénégalais de l’étranger : Pape Gueye lance bien sa saison, Lamine Camara en forme, Jackson dans l’impasse
The European Championships resumed this weekend with kickoffs in England, Spain, and France. Like last season, Senegalese footballers will be eagerly awaited. And on this first day, some have already distinguished themselves.
In Spain, Pape Gueye opened his scoring account for Villarreal while in England, Pape Matar Sarr provided an assist in Tottenham's victory against Burnley.
Ligue 1 (France)
Lamine Camara has made a strong start to his season with AS Monaco. The Senegalese midfielder provided an assist in the 3-1 victory over Le Havre. It's worth noting the absence of Krépin Diatta for Monaco. Opposite, Mory Diaw, Issa Soumaré, Arouna Sanganté, and Rassoul Ndiaye started. The latter scored Le Havre's only goal.
In the all-Senegalese duel, Mamadou Sarr's Strasbourg won 0-1 away to Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly's FC Metz. Strasbourg's new signing, Pape Demba Diop, was not on the match sheet.
In Lens, Lyon's Moussa Niakhaté (starting) secured a valuable victory (0-1). With Yehvann Diouf and Antoine Mendy starting, Nice lost at home to Toulouse (0-1). At the Francis-Le Blé stadium, Stade Brestois, without Abdoulaye Niakhaté Ndiaye, was held to a 3-3 draw by Lille. Mikayil Ngor Faye, who was dismissed by Habib Beye for being late, did not take part in Stade Rennais' victory over Marseille (1-0).
Liga (Spain)
Pape Gueye's Villarreal started their season with a 2-0 win over Real Oviedo. The Senegalese midfielder, who started the season, scored the second goal with a fine left-footed strike. Pathé Ciss, also a starter, played in Rayo Vallecano's 3-1 away win over Girona.
Premier League (England)
Habib Diarra had a successful baptism of fire with Sunderland. Starting in midfield, he contributed to the resounding 4-0 victory against West Ham, where El Hadji Malick Diouf played at left-back.
In London, Ismaïla Sarr and Crystal Palace held their own against Chelsea. Nicolas Jackson, who is in the process of leaving, was not on the Blues' squad. Abdallah Sima, back from loan at Brighton, did not take part in the 1-1 match against Fulham. Everton, featuring Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye, travel to promoted Leeds United this Monday.
Pro League (Belgium)
On Matchday 4, Anderlecht won 2-0 at FCV Dender. Moussa Ndiaye, who remained on the bench, did not take part in the match. Ilay Camara was not on the match sheet.
Super League (Türkiye)
In the second round of the championship, Ismail Jakobs' Galatasaray won against Fatih Karagümrük (3-0). The Senegalese international came on as a substitute in the 75th minute.

Pourtant sans Jackson, Chelsea n’ira nulle part cette saison. Jackson c’est une force de la nature qui même s’il ne marque pas beaucoup rend meilleurs ses coéquipiers aussi bien les attaquants que les défenseurs. Son seul défaut c’est que c’est un Sénégalais typique, c’est à dire éduqué pour être timide. Mais s’il n’était pas timide, il gagnerait le ballon d’or parce que sur le plan physique il est super mais à cause de sa timide il n’ose pas être wané ou tenter des gestes techniques compliqués. C’est pour ça qu’il rate beaucoup d’occasions à mon avis. Il faut un peu de chay chay dans le foot et un peu d’audace. Tenter des tirs de loin parfois, faire des dribbles, des gestes techniques, refuser de faire la passe de temps en temps et faire la sourde oreille quand on te critique. Parce qu’en vérité tous les joueurs se font critiquer, c’est pourquoi certains célèbrent leurs buts en faisant signe aux parleurs de se taire. Moi j’ai connu une fille athlète qui avait un énorme potentiel et à force de lui parler, elle pris confiance en elle et est devenue la femme la plus rapide du monde sur 100m. C’est pourquoi tout le monde doit m’écouter et je dois devenir Président de la République du Sénégal un jour. Les championnats mondiaux d’athlétisme se tiendront en Japon en septembre et la fille dont je vous parle va finir 1ère ou 2ème je crois.
