Ligue sénégalaise de football professionnel : Démenti officiel sur un éventuel boycott du championnat

The Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) has issued a statement to clarify the current situation of the institution and put an end to rumors of a possible "boycott" of the championship by certain clubs.

The LSFP recalls that the handover of office between the new president, Babacar Ndiaye, and his predecessor, Djibril Wade, took place on Saturday, September 13, 2025. In accordance with its program and prerogatives, the new office launched a comprehensive inventory covering contractual files, financial and administrative governance as well as the Pay Per View system.

This audit, conducted in a spirit of transparency and good governance, should help establish new strategic directions and optimize the league's operations. An extraordinary board meeting has been convened for September 27, 2025.

On this occasion, the LSFP will proceed with the official validation of the new Executive Board, the installation of the specialized commissions, the adoption of the strategic roadmap and the definition of budgetary orientations.

At the end of this session, the institution will be fully operational and able to communicate on its decisions and projects.

The LSFP has strongly reaffirmed that the 2025-2026 professional championship will be played normally, with the 32 clubs involved in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. The organization assures that it is implementing all necessary means to guarantee the smooth running of the competitions and preserve the continuity of the public service of professional football.

Faced with the spread of information deemed erroneous, the LSFP calls on media players to be more responsible and recalls that its official channels are the only reliable sources of communication.

It also invites clubs, players, supporters, journalists and economic partners to show unity and solidarity to collectively meet the challenges of Senegalese football and build a more attractive discipline.
