«Les meilleurs élèvent leur niveau… »: Les éloges de Kompany envers Michael Olise
At the highest level, big matches often reveal exceptional players. And on Tuesday night, at the Parc des Princes, Michael Olise perfectly illustrated this rule. The 24-year-old winger delivered a remarkable performance in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain (4-5), capped off by a superb goal.
With five goals in 12 appearances in the competition this season, the French international is confirming his impact in major European matches. A performance enthusiastically praised by his coach, Vincent Kompany.
In a press conference, the Belgian coach did not hide his admiration: "That's what the Champions League semi-finals are all about: the best players raise their level to match the occasion. They never give up. What Michael did was truly impressive."
Despite the praise, Kompany was keen to reiterate that qualifying for the final remains the Bavarian club's primary objective. That mission is still wide open after this spectacular first half, in which Olise established himself as one of the key players of the match.
