L’audience des supporters au Maroc renvoyée au 19 février : Me Patrick Kabou dénonce l’absence de garanties procédurales
The hearing for the Senegalese supporters detained in Morocco was held this Thursday at the Moroccan court. However, it was adjourned until February 19 for closing arguments by the lawyers. The announcement was made by lawyer Patrick Kabou, who cited unmet procedural requirements that led to his defense's absence from the hearing.
According to the lawyer, his team had made its participation conditional on the disclosure of the proceedings and the adequate preparation of its clients. Faced with the absence of these guarantees, the defense claims it chose not to "serve as a mere token" by abstaining from appearing at the hearing.
Mr. Kabou also points out that the plaintiff was not present at this first hearing. Only a lawyer representing another defendant reportedly participated in the proceedings.
The court ultimately decided to postpone the case until February 19, the date on which the lawyers will have to present their arguments.
