Drame au Ghana : Un jeune footballeur tué lors d’une attaque armée visant son équipe
Football is in mourning in Ghana. Dominic Frimpong, the young striker for Berekum Chelsea, tragically lost his life at the age of 20 following an armed attack.
The tragedy occurred on Sunday on the road linking Bibiani to Goaso, as the team was returning to their base camp after a league match against Samartex, which ended in a defeat (1-0).
According to initial reports, the bus carrying the players and staff was targeted by armed individuals in what appears to be an attempted robbery. The attack caused panic on board the vehicle, prompting several occupants to flee to escape the gunfire. Several injuries were reported.
Dominic Frimpong was seriously wounded by a gunshot and rushed to a hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical teams, the young player did not survive his injuries.
This tragedy plunges Ghanaian football into sadness once again and raises concerns about the safety of teams when they travel.
