Transfert : après Kylian Mbappé, le Real Madrid cible une autre star du Paris Saint-Germain
Two years after pulling off one of the biggest coups of the transfer window by attracting Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid could strike again… at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain.
In the summer of 2024, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez finally realized a long-held dream by signing French striker Kylian Mbappé, who was a free agent. After several unsuccessful attempts to negotiate with PSG, the Real Madrid boss ultimately prevailed. Now, the Spanish executive is reportedly interested in another key player from the Parisian club: Vitinha.
A profile that appeals to Madrid
According to Spanish media, the Portuguese international midfielder has become one of Real Madrid's top priorities. Having steadily improved since arriving in Paris, Vitinha has established himself as a key player in Luis Enrique's system. His technical ability, vision, and capacity to dictate the tempo of the game are particularly appealing to the Madrid decision-makers.
In Madrid, some believe the midfield has lost its composure since the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Vitinha thus appears to be the ideal candidate to restore fluidity and creativity to the Merengues' midfield. Long considered unattainable, the transfer now seems more feasible.
An operation that is now more realistic
According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, this transfer saga, once considered utopian, has taken a new turn in recent weeks. Real Madrid, however, remains cautious and does not wish to make any move while PSG is still competing in the UEFA Champions League. It's a matter of timing and respect, both for the player and for the two clubs involved. Three factors are fueling Madrid's optimism:
A verbal agreement reportedly exists between Vitinha and PSG, allowing him to leave if an offer of around 100 million euros is made.
Relations between Florentino Pérez and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi have reportedly calmed considerably, facilitating possible negotiations.
The player, under contract until 2029, would not be opposed to taking on a new challenge after his experience in Paris.
All these signs encourage Real Madrid to prepare their offensive. It remains to be seen whether, as with Mbappé, Florentino Pérez's patience and strategy will ultimately pay off once again.
