Senegalese international midfielder Mamadou Lamine Camara has officially ended his time in Morocco. After several weeks of negotiations and a busy transfer window, the 23-year-old has signed with Al-Ittihad Tripoli, bringing to a close a saga that captivated many observers.

Perseverance has finally paid off for the former RS Berkane player. After a failed attempt to join Stoke City last summer, followed by an initial agreement with a Libyan club that fell through due to administrative delays, Mamadou Lamine Camara has finally completed his move. He has signed with the current leaders of the Libyan league for a transfer fee estimated at $2.5 million (approximately 1.64 billion FCFA). According to sources close to the deal, the player will receive an annual salary of around $1.2 million, or nearly 786 million FCFA.

Trained at Darou Salam, the Senegalese midfielder leaves Morocco with a well-established reputation. In over four seasons with Berkane, he established himself as a key player in midfield, actively contributing to the club's success. His list of achievements includes two CAF Cups and a Moroccan league title. Last season, he was also named the league's best foreign player.

On the international stage, Mamadou Lamine Camara is enjoying a positive run of form. A champion of Africa with Senegal and winner of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, he arrives in Libya with the ambition of taking his career to the next level. However, this move to Libya could diminish his chances of being selected for the Senegalese national team for the World Cup.

C'est pas en equipe nationale qu'il doit ameliorer son temps de jeu, mais il doit travailler fort pour trouver un bon club, s'y imposer et y avoir un temps de jeu, et le temps de jeu en equipe nationale viendra naturellement
