Le tirage du Mondial-2026 de football aura lieu le 5 décembre au Kennedy Center de Washington, annonce Trump

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America will take place at the Kennedy Center, the cultural center in Washington, Donald Trump announced Friday.

It's "probably the biggest sporting event," said the US president, wearing a red cap emblazoned with the slogan "Trump was right about everything."

The 79-year-old sports enthusiast made the announcement in the Oval Office alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who has been a guest at the White House several times since the billionaire's return to power, with whom he has an excellent relationship.

Gianni Infantino did not come empty-handed: he brought the legendary competition trophy and invited a visibly delighted Donald Trump to grab it.

"It's only for winners, and since you're a winner you can get it too," the FIFA boss said.

"Can I keep it?" asked Donald Trump, judging that the trophy would complement the decor of the Oval Office, which he has covered with all kinds of golden ornaments.

He also keeps a trophy there from the Club World Cup, which took place in the United States at the beginning of the summer.

Gianni Infantino also presented the American president with a giant replica of a ticket to the World Cup final in New York on July 19, 2026.

"Row 1, Seat 1," reads the ticket, numbered "45/47," referring to the two terms of Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th presidents of the United States.

The Kennedy Center is a major performance venue in Washington, and it has become a symbol of Donald Trump's takeover of the cultural sector, which he accuses of a progressive drift.

He became the president of this institution, and, in addition to having a say in the programming, intends to carry out major beautification works, such as at the White House and in the streets of the city of Washington.

Donald Trump has repeatedly raised the possibility of changing the name of the venue to include his own name, including on Friday.
