The video went viral: 24 hours before facing the United States in a friendly match, the Senegalese players were surprised by the unusual bounce of the ball at Charlotte Stadium. Many fans then expressed concern about the state of the pitches in the United States, two weeks before the start of the 2026 World Cup.

According to TalkSport, Charlotte's stadium is undergoing renovations and has just received a new pitch. The newly laid grass doesn't yet provide optimal ball bounce, something the Senegalese players experienced during their final training session before facing the United States (a 3-2 defeat).

It should also be noted that this Charlotte stadium is not among the venues chosen to host matches of the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
