Le récit glaçant de Victor Osimhen sur son transfert au Napoli et la mort de son père

Having left Galatasaray permanently this summer , Victor Osimhen (26 years old) thought he was done with Napoli, a club whose jersey he wore from 2020 to 2024 before being loaned last year to Turkey. The Nigerian striker was, however, heard before the Guardia di Finanza for a case of fictitious capital gains made in complicity between Lille and Napoli. If the player does not really have an impact on the club-to-club negotiations, he nevertheless criticized the progress of the negotiations as relayed by La Repubblica . Thus, the player expressed his discomfort at the time of the transfer since his father was seriously ill when his agent at the time Jean Gérard pushed for the transfer: " My previous agent had shown serious interest from Napoli , but he was only interested in my transfer and not in my father's health. At the time, I was not in the mood to think about football; I just wanted to know how he was doing. Gérard called me to meet him in Nice. Luis Campos and Lille president Gérard Lopez were also there. They told me I had to go to Naples, that there was already an agreement in principle and that because of the pandemic, it was a good opportunity for Lille. But I didn't know anything about it .

This is where Victor Osimhen's father's health really deteriorated and he died. The sad news naturally affected Victor Osimhen, who had not been able to see him before his death and the clubs had continued to push to finalize the file, preventing him from properly grieving: " Following my father's death, I was very angry with Lille and my agent, because I had not been able to see him before his death. They even told me that I had to leave for Naples the next day, without even realizing it. Out of respect for the Lille president, I still went to Naples, but I didn't sign anything. I met the coach, who explained the project to me, and the next day, De Laurentiis in Capri. He told me about the city and the club, but I didn't understand what he was saying to Giuntoli, because they were speaking Italian. He asked me if I had seen the contract, but I hadn't received anything. " It was then that Victor Osimhen would break off his relationship with his agent at the time: " Back at the hotel, I asked my agent for the draft contract. He told me he didn't have one. I was surprised, because the president had told me the opposite. Finally, he showed me a piece of paper, a pseudo-agreement with Napoli. I got angry and wanted to return to France. I asked Lopez for a week's rest and left for Paris. Then, back in Lille, I decided to end my relationship with this agent. Seeing Napoli's interest, I asked William D'Avila to manage my transfer. At the end of July, I signed the contract in Lille, in the presence of Maurizio Micheli for Napoli and, among others, D'Avila, Lopez, Ingla, Calenda and Cros. "
