Violences à Yoff: Le sous-préfet suspend les Navétanes violence dans les Navétanes
Yoff was the scene of violent clashes on Tuesday, August 6, 2025, on the sidelines of the popular football championship known as Navétanes. The clashes pitted supporters of the Mbenguène and Tonghor teams against each other. Although the scheduled match between the two teams did not take place due to a lack of police presence, violence erupted near the pitch and then spread to the Yoff market. Clashes lasted several hours, resulting in numerous injuries, including a 13-year-old boy who suffered a broken finger. Several injured people were evacuated to the Philippe Maguilen Senghor Health Center.
Scenes of vandalism were also reported at the Yoff market, where stalls were vandalized. Faced with this situation, the sub-prefect of Almadies, Mouhamadou Lamine Thiam, decided to suspend all Navétanes competitions in the commune until further notice, citing "public order disturbances."

Je ne sais pas pourquoi dans les villages lebous les matchs de navetanes virent toujours à l'Intifada. Je ne stigmatise pas. J'aime l'hospitalité, la solidarité et la culture des lebous mais c'est un constat. Même à Rufisque c'est la même situation. Quand il y a un derby entre deux ASC lebous, c'est la guerre. Pourtant c'est la même famille. C'est dommage!!!
