Violences dans les stades au Maroc : Un international demande aux autorités de durcir le ton
OC Safi's elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup final, after two draws (0-0, 1-1) against USM Alger, has sparked a heated controversy. At the heart of the controversy, goalkeeper Youssef El Motie has spoken out to denounce incidents that occurred on the sidelines of the match.

According to the Moroccan goalkeeper, the match was disrupted by a pitch invasion and violence attributed to some Algerian supporters, resulting in a delay of nearly 80 minutes. These accusations have fueled a tense atmosphere between the two sides, each rejecting responsibility for the disturbances.
A one-time Moroccan international with the Atlas Lions—who didn't play in a victory against Burkina Faso in September 2023—El Motie also used this media appearance to send a strong message to the authorities and public of his country. "Wake up!" he exclaimed, denouncing what he considers to be one-sided Moroccan hospitality.
The OC Safi goalkeeper drew a parallel with the incidents that occurred during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, played on January 18, 2026, in Rabat. He questioned the treatment of visiting fans, pointing to an imbalance he considered unfair: "They are welcomed with milk and dates, they are even offered a free bus... while, in their country, we are left standing on the floor in their airport," he stated.
