UFOA-A U17 : le Sénégal abritera les qualifications 2026
The WAFU-A Zone released on Friday the official calendar of its football competitions for the year 2026. A packed program that emphasizes the development of youth categories and the promotion of women's football and clubs in the West African space.
The highlight of this announcement was Senegal's selection as host country for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The matches will take place from September 1st to 20th, 2026, and will bring together the best U17 teams from the region. This represents a major opportunity for young Senegalese and regional talents to test themselves and prepare for the continental tournament.
For the U20s, the men's qualifiers will take place in Mali from August 8 to 25, 2026. The women's teams, meanwhile, will play their qualifying phase in Guinea-Bissau from May 1 to 20.
At club level, the Women's Champions League qualifiers for the zone will take place in Gambia from July 25 to August 9, 2026, offering the best local teams a pathway to the continental finals.
Through this calendar, the WAFU-A Zone reaffirms its commitment to structuring regional football, strengthening youth competitions and promoting women's football, while giving increased visibility to clubs in the sub-region.
