«Vous pouvez compter sur moi» : le message de Bouna Sarr à...
More than two years after his last official appearance, Bouna Sarr has made his grand return to the pitches of Ligue 1. Coming on as a substitute during FC Metz's defeat against Paris Saint-Germain (3-0), the 34-year-old right-back, African champion with the Lions of Senegal in 2022, immediately focused on the delicate mission awaiting his club: the survival operation.
Currently bottom of the league, four points adrift of the relegation playoff spot currently held by AJ Auxerre, Metz is experiencing a deep sporting crisis. This situation has sparked anger among the ultras groups – Horda Frénétik and Gruppa Metz – who voiced their discontent before their crucial home game against Brest in the 24th round of matches.
With 169 matches in the top flight under his belt, the former Bayern Munich and Olympique de Marseille player, quoted by Le Quotidien, wanted to reassure the Metz supporters in a video broadcast by Ligue 1:
"I know this place well. Here, we never give up. People of Metz, you can count on me. See you Sunday."
