Command and sense of responsibility: the Mobile Gendarmerie strengthens the capabilities of its legion and group commanders

Since Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the commanders of the legion and group of the Mobile Gendarmerie have been participating in a three (03) day seminar devoted to the theme "Command and sense of responsibility".

Organised at the Amphitheater of the High Command of the National Gendarmerie, this meeting is part of the dynamic of strengthening the leadership and operational effectiveness of the officers of the Mobile Gendarmerie.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Brigadier General Jean Bertrand Bocandé, commander of the Mobile Gendarmerie, in the presence of the various heads of the formations concerned.

In his address, General Bocandé emphasized the crucial role of commanders in leading units and preserving the institution's core values. He stressed the need for leadership based on exemplary conduct, responsibility, discipline, and attentiveness.

The commander of the Mobile Gendarmerie particularly encouraged participants to prioritize ongoing communication with their personnel to foster cohesion, trust, and efficiency within their units. He also emphasized that security missions must be carried out with strict respect for the rights and freedoms of citizens, in accordance with the principles that guide the actions of the National Gendarmerie.

During these three (03) days of work, participants will exchange views on the challenges of command, the responsibilities inherent in their functions, as well as good practices to improve the operational capacity of units and the quality of service provided to the population.

Through this initiative, the Mobile Gendarmerie reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the skills of its officers and promoting responsible command, in service of the safety of people and property.
