Liste d'homosexuels : des éléments de la Bip détachés pour assurer la sécurité de Mame Makhtar Guèye (Jamra)
"Members of the Multipurpose Intervention Brigade (Bip) have been detached to ensure the security of the vice-president of the Islamic NGO Jamra, Mame Makhtar Guèye," the organization announced on its official Facebook page.
In a publication, Jamra, through its executive president, Imam Massamba Diop, thanked the Director General of the National Police, Mame Seydou Ndour, for having "kindly detached elements of the Bip for the close protection" of Mr. Guèye.
This measure comes in a context marked by the NGO's announcement of the upcoming publication of a list of people it claims to be holding.
On Thursday, however, Jamra indicated that it had been contacted by one of its lawyers, Seydou Diagne, currently in Paris, to postpone this publication.
Members of the said organization stated that the lawyer had asked them "to wait for his return from his trip before publishing the list of 650 homosexuals," adding that this approach would be in line with a previous action carried out by the NGO.
Mame Makhtar Guèye and his collaborators recalled that in 1985, the organization had, "with Me Babacar Niang, proceeded in the same way for the list of 25 Freemasons, before making it public."
