Mbour : Deuxième opération mixte de sécurisation Police–Gendarmerie, sous la supervision du ministre de l’Intérieur
During the night of December 19-20, 2025, a second large-scale joint security operation was carried out in the department of Mbour by the defense and security forces, bringing together the National Police and the Gendarmerie, under the effective supervision of the Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Mr. Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé.
The operation began at the Ndadjé roundabout, a strategic point connecting the bypass to the toll highway ramp. The deployed units then cordoned off several sensitive areas, including Médinatoul Salam and Sintiou Mbadane, before concluding the operation in Keur Balla.
This action is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen security and combat insecurity, with encouraging results marked by a notable reversal of the security trend in the area.
An improvement attributed to the determination and professionalism of the forces involved, composed of dutiful women and men, fully mobilized to enforce the fundamental three-pronged approach: safety, health and public tranquility.
Present on the ground, the Minister of the Interior congratulated the defense and security forces for their unwavering commitment. He also urged them to maintain this momentum, while commending their bravery, resilience, and strong sense of public service.
This operation thus marks a further step in the national strategy aimed at guaranteeing the safety of people and property and at providing lasting reassurance to the populations of the Mbour department.
