Créer, transmettre, innover : Le manifeste vidéoludique d’Amanirenas

At Gamescom 2025, which opened on August 20 in Cologne, Senegalese studio Amanirenas presented its original vision for the video game industry. Led by Mame Mor Kandji, the studio champions creations designed "by Africans, for Africans," with the ambition of making games a vehicle for memory and culture.

Among its flagship titles, Door Daan stands out for its inspiration from Senegalese wrestling, blending tradition with interactive storytelling. This cultural positioning aims to transform video games into true modern griots, capable of transmitting African stories to new generations while appealing to an international audience.

The Senegalese video game market, estimated at 47 billion CFA francs, is still in its infancy. Amanirenas is therefore seeking to attract publishers, investors, and partners to consolidate its development, create jobs, and structure a local ecosystem around digital creation.

This presence in Cologne illustrates a preponderant desire on her part to make video games a tool for cultural and economic development, by demonstrating that Africa can produce innovative and competitive content while telling its own stories.
