Des Hackers annoncent avoir attaqué la DAF : 139TB de données biométriques des sénégalais seraient dans le Darkweb
Has the File Automation Directorate (DAF) been the target of a cyberattack? A message circulating on social media claims that the ransomware known as "Green Blood Group" has "added two new victims to its Dark Web portal." The DAF is reportedly among them.
Indeed, 139 terabytes of biometric data belonging to Senegalese citizens, as well as immigration-related data, are reportedly currently encrypted—that is, encoded in an unreadable format—and transferred to the Dark Web. So far, neither the Ministry of the Interior nor the DAF (Directorate of Administrative and Financial Affairs) has reacted. Furthermore, the DAF's official website is currently inaccessible.
As a reminder, the General Directorate of Taxes and State Property (DGID) is the latest state entity to have been targeted by this type of attack. Ransomware is a form of cyberattack that uses malicious software to encrypt the data on a computer system and block access to files, demanding payment of a ransom.
