146ème Appel de Seydina Limamou Laye : la contribution de la Fondation du Crédit Mutuel du Sénégal
In anticipation of the 146th Call of Seydina Limamou Laye, scheduled for January 19th and 20th, Crédit Mutuel du Sénégal (CMS) paid a courtesy visit to the General Khalif of the Layenne community, Mamadou Lamine Laye, on Friday, January 16th, 2026. For CMS Chairman and CEO Amadou Jean Jacques Diop, this spiritual and institutional gesture is part of an annual tradition of supporting religious families. "As is customary, every year we come to visit the Khalif, pay him a ziara (pilgrimage), and above all, contribute to the organization of this call," he stated. According to Serigne Ba, Chairman of the Foundation's Board, this gesture goes beyond simple financial assistance. The objective, he explained, is to effectively support the organization of this major religious event. "This contribution aims to help the family and the Khalif better understand the 146th Call of Imam Laye, in order to properly receive the thousands of people who will converge on the holy sites," he stressed.
For his part, Amadou Jean Jacques Diop emphasized that these actions are fully aligned with the CMS's social mission. "These visits we make to the various religious families and communities in Senegal are perfectly in line with our mission, which revolves around providing constant support to the population," he stated. Serigne Ba places this commitment within a long-term vision. "Since 1988, we have understood the need for active solidarity," he recalled, echoing the Khalif's words. "Beyond what the State can offer, financial institutions like the CMS also contribute to reducing unemployment," he added.
Referring to this year's theme, which is "Islamic solidarity in the face of current challenges," Mr. Diop believes that his structure "sticks to the theme, supports populations in solidarity, by financing and accompanying them," he concluded.
