Accès à l’information : Les députés exigent des garanties pour une transparence effective
During the examination of Bill No. 14/2025 on access to information, MPs expressed several reservations and proposals in committee, according to the report presented. They emphasized the need to guarantee real and equitable access for citizens to public information, an essential condition for strengthening transparency and accountability. The parliamentarians advocated for facilitating access to government information, believing that this would strengthen their ability to monitor and evaluate public action. They called for avoiding any ambiguity in the drafting, particularly between Articles 1 and 13, to prevent divergent interpretations.
The fight against disinformation was also a key point, with several elected officials urging the Minister of Justice to establish "clear mechanisms to prevent the proliferation of false information and punish breaches."
The deputies also questioned "the time allowed for administrations to direct an applicant to the authority holding the information sought." They requested clarification on the scope of industrial and commercial secrecy in order to better define non-disclosed information. Finally, the elected representatives insisted on "the updating of public service websites, deemed essential to make the right of access to information effective." They also proposed the inclusion of the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (CNRA) in the future National Commission for Access to Information (CONAI), due to its strategic role in the regulation of audiovisual media.
