It is almost always full. The mausoleum of Serigne Babacar Sy in Tivaouane has become an essential place of pilgrimage for the Tijani faithful who come to celebrate the Mawloud (anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Every year, hundreds of pilgrims flock to this place to pay their respects at the tomb of the first caliph of El Hadji Malick Sy (1922-1957), an emblematic figure of the Tidjaniya.
