Arnaque sur TikTok : Le charlatan Petit Simbo arrêté par la SU de Guédiawaye pour avoir escroqué 4,1 millions F CFA à un couple
The urban security (SU) of Guédiawaye put an end to the activities of the tiktoker charlatan S. Seck, alias "Petit Simbo", who lured his victims by showing off bundles of banknotes on social networks before robbing them once in the bush.
It was during 2024 that I. Sèye's wife discovered videos on TikTok of a charlatan named S. Seck, alias "Petit Simbo". He posted videos of his charlatanism on his pages and displayed several bundles of banknotes neatly arranged in suitcases and bags, according to Seneweb sources.
Intrigued, the complainant spoke by phone with the charlatan, who demanded 15,000 CFA francs to predict his future. The money was transferred via Wave. After completing his scheme, the charlatan informed the complainant that his future was clear and that he would have a happy life.
The following day, S. Seck called the plaintiff's wife to ask her for the sum of 4,100,000 CFA francs. In return, he promised to multiply banknotes totaling 575,000,000 CFA francs, which they would share equally.
Finding the offer very tempting, the plaintiff decided to try his luck. He gathered the required funds and traveled to Kaolack with his wife to meet Petit Simbo.
Upon arriving at the EDK station in the Saloum region, a man named Fallou greeted them and asked them to follow him in a taxi. Mr. Fallou then drove to Sibassor, where, following his instructions, the complainant took another car for a 19 km journey to the village of Gnabél.
Upon arrival, they took a horse-drawn carriage and traveled several kilometers into the bush. At one point, a man stood in their path and ordered them to get out and continue on foot. It was at this moment that their guide, Fallou, disappeared into the bush on his motorcycle. The couple then followed a new guide named Mbaye, who, oddly enough, was carrying a machete.
That's how they stumble upon a tent in the middle of the bush where they find Fallou and C. Ndiaye, probably the owner of the Wave account where the money was paid.
After waiting for a few hours, S. Seck arrives on the scene, a firearm in hand, and addresses the plaintiff's wife to demand the sums of money that are given to him.
Around 1 a.m., the charlatan led I. Sèye behind the tent where he showed him sums of money scattered on the ground and in suitcases. He informed him, however, that he could not retrieve them for the time being, as an offering of perfumes worth 3,000,000 CFA francs was required first.
This new request sparked discussions between the plaintiff, who did not have the money, and Petit Simbo. The charlatan then postponed the work for three days, until the perfume was available. The plaintiff agreed after having unsuccessfully demanded his money back.
With no further response, S. Seck chartered two taxis which dropped the couple off in Sibassor. They returned to Dakar.
In the following days, the charlatan remained unreachable. The complainant conducted his own investigation and discovered on TikTok that the accused was now using a Gambian phone number. Knowing he was in Gambia, he traveled there to file a complaint, but the investigation went nowhere.
The complainant then contacted the DIC, which opened an investigation and informed the Gambian police via Interpol.
A few weeks later, I. Sèye received information that S. Seck had returned to Senegal and was staying in Pikine. His investigation led him to Guédiawaye, where the charlatan's residence was located.
Yesterday, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, a mission from the SU of the central police station of Guédiawaye under the command of Lieutenant Sy Ba made it possible to identify and arrest Petit Simbo, who was taken to the police station.
When questioned after being informed of his right to legal counsel, he admitted to the facts and offered to reimburse the money he had received if he was granted a grace period until the following Monday. Regarding the firearm, he stated that he did not have a permit and was using it to test the effectiveness of his charms.
He was taken into custody for criminal association, quackery, robbery committed at night with violence and use of bladed weapons and firearms without administrative authorization, after consultation with prosecutor Saliou Dicko, head of the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office.
