Nofeya - JAH

Nofeya, the mixed-race soul who sings of faith, resilience, and Senegal:

Born to a Senegalese father and a Guadeloupean mother, Nofeya embodies a plural identity, nourished by cultures, spirituality, and love. Her story is one of a rich and profoundly human heritage, where music appears not as a simple artistic choice, but as a self-evident truth.

From a very young age, she grew up surrounded by music: lulled by her father's vinyl records and the voice of her mother, who herself dreamed of becoming a singer. This dream, passed down like a torch, has been fulfilled through her. Today, Nofeya offers an eclectic musical universe, blending Afrobeat, R&B, and Caribbean zouk, with a signature sound that is authentic, generous, and deeply spiritual.

An artistic and historical legacy:

Nofeya's story is also marked by exceptional family pride. Her father, then only 16 years old, was the author of the emblematic sculpture of the first World Festival of Black Arts in 1966 in Dakar.

This work, imbued with powerful symbolism, depicts a woman carrying a calabash filled with fruit, illuminated by sunlight. The woman embodies Africa, while the rising sun evokes creation—a reminder that the African continent is the cradle of humanity. A powerful artistic vision, realized by a young talent whose legacy continues to shine through his daughter.

“Senegal”: a music video blending memory and love:

In 2024, Nofeya made a lasting impression with the release of her music video "Sénégal," which quickly garnered thousands of views. This project is much more than a musical work: it's a declaration of love.

She evokes her parents, her roots, her ancestors whose prayers still resonate. The baobab becomes a central symbol, a tree of memory and wisdom, silently whispering the tales of Africa — its sorrows, its struggles, but also its victories.

God, faith, transmission: everything that makes up his universe is celebrated there with intensity.

"A Fight of Honor," a life story:

His album Combat d'Honneur marks a decisive turning point in his career. Initially conceived as an end point, it turned out to be a rebirth.

Each track is a fragment of his story: a tale of inner struggles, unwavering faith, and a zest for life. Songs like Alleluia reflect this transformation, evoking a phoenix rising from the ashes, a symbol of resilience and renewal.

For Nofeya, music is inseparable from personal development. The more she evolves internally, the more her art rises. She draws her inspiration from love, faith, family, positive energies, and the power of life.

A philosophy of life guided by freedom:

Nofeya claims total freedom in her creative process. Refusing to follow trends, she forges her own path.

She often works alone, guided by instinct: a hummed melody, a fleeting inspiration that she immediately captures before it slips away. For her, inspiration is alive, unpredictable, almost mystical.

A family history marked by resilience

The artist carries within her a strong family history. Her maternal grandmother, who raised nine children alone in precarious conditions, without electricity or comforts, nevertheless led a happy life. Her father, who grew up in solitude, managed to transform it into strength.

These experiences have shaped Nofeya's identity: a woman imbued with resilience, faith, and love. A legacy she describes as "the melody her soul hums every day."

Social commitment: music in service of others:

Beyond music, Nofeya is actively involved in helping others through her association, Basket ball dans la peau (Basketball in the Skin). Initially created to help young people access sports, it has gradually expanded.

Today, the association

supports an orphanage in Uganda, providing food and medical care for 60 children,

organizes solidarity actions in Senegal, particularly with the talibés (students of Islamic schools),

showcases basketball players through interviews,

collaborates with socially conscious artists like Zick Da Boss.

His fight is clear: to place youth at the heart of priorities.

An artist looking towards the future:

Nofeya aspires to collaborate with organizations committed to children and the development of sport, particularly women's basketball, which still receives too little media coverage. She also dreams of traveling the world, driven by music and new encounters.

His message, however, remains universal:

“We have a light within us. Let’s take care of it. Let’s cultivate positive energies. For they shape our lives.”

Nofeya is not just an artist. She is a voice, an energy, a bridge between cultures and generations. A soul that sings to remind the world that faith, love, and resilience are the true forces that uplift humanity.
