Pape Gueye : « Le plus important est fait » après la qualification du Sénégal
After Senegal's victory and qualification for the final, Pape Gueye spoke in the mixed zone.
“The most important thing is done. We’re really happy tonight. We faced a good Egyptian team and we managed to score while remaining solid defensively,” said the Senegalese midfielder. He emphasized the importance of preparation: “We studied this team a lot, we knew they could be dangerous on the counter-attack, and I think we handled that situation well.”
Gueye emphasized the team effort: "We needed to score, and that's what we did. We continue to play our football, patiently. We knew Egypt would defend very deep, and we didn't panic: we circulated the ball until we found the opening, and it paid off."
The player also wanted to praise Sadio Mané, who scored the decisive goal: "Sadio is Sadio. He contributes so much, both on and off the pitch. Today, he scored this super important goal. We are really happy for him and for everything he does for the team."
