Projet RENOCB : L’ANSD recrute 126 agents pour recenser les Organisations Communautaires de Base au Sénégal
This Thursday, August 21, 2025, the Minister of Family and Solidarity, Ms. Maimouna Dièye, officially launched the National Reference Framework for Community-Based Organizations (RENOCB), in collaboration with the Directorate of Community Development (DDC) and the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD). This ambitious and innovative project, financed to the tune of $90 million by the World Bank, aims to identify, structure and promote Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) active in key sectors such as health, education, the environment, agriculture and the fight against poverty in Senegal.
The minister emphasized the importance of these local structures, while lamenting the lack of reliable data on their number, operation, and geographic distribution. She stated that RENOCB will provide increased visibility to these essential community actors, thus strengthening their role in national development. To implement this project, ANSD will recruit 126 census agents and 15 controllers responsible for identifying CBOs throughout Senegal. Their mission will be to meet with CBOs in the field, collect data, map them, and integrate them into a digital platform. This platform will facilitate their support and formalization.
Paul Biagui, Director of Community Development, indicated that this program represents a major opportunity to better plan public policies and direct support according to the realities on the ground. RENOCB marks a strategic step in the recognition and strengthening of the role of Community Based Organizations, by fully integrating them into the dynamics of national development.
