Faced with the recurring shortage of blood bags in Senegal, the Association of Secretaries of the Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE), in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), organized an important blood donation day on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the headquarters of the General Directorate.

From the early hours of the morning, agents and volunteers responded to the call, in a national context marked by a resurgence of traffic accidents and a high demand for blood products.

A gesture of solidarity and humanism

For the organizers, this fourth edition goes beyond mere institutional considerations. "It's an act of solidarity and humanism," emphasized Mbeme Dioum, reminding everyone that a single donation can save up to three lives. The president of the association also praised the commitment of the General Management, particularly that of the Director General, Dr. Toussaint Manga, who, according to her, "spared no effort to ensure the success of this day."

Present at the ceremony, Dr. Toussaint Manga expressed his pride in this initiative, which he described as "an example for all public and private organizations in Senegal." With Ramadan and Lent approaching, periods during which stocks dwindle while needs increase, he emphasized the urgent need to expand these civic actions.

The atmosphere of the day was both festive and supportive. Accompanied by the songs and dances of a traditional group, the mobilization took on the air of a collective celebration, proving that generosity can be expressed in a convivial atmosphere.

Building on this success, the Association announced that the fifth edition will be held in various regions. The objective is clear: to broaden the mobilization beyond Dakar and sustainably strengthen national blood transfusion capacities.

Through this action, LONASE reaffirms its social commitment. Beyond its economic missions, the institution proves that it remains a socially responsible actor directly serving the health of the population.
