Transport et infrastructures : Caetano Sénégal lance deux modèles de camions d’une marque mondiale de référence
Caetano Senegal ended 2025 on a high note with the official launch of Ford Trucks. This exclusive event, held on Saturday, December 13th, at the King Fahd Palace Hotel in Dakar, marked the arrival of a leading global brand in the transportation and infrastructure sector, dedicated to Senegal's development. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Fernando Leite, Managing Director of Caetano, in the presence of representatives from Ford Trucks, partners, and others.
Two premium truck models
These are the Ford Trucks 3543 T and the Ford Trucks 4143 D, two models of automatic trucks designed for transport and the construction, quarrying and sand pit sectors.
The Ford Trucks 3543 T is a tractor unit that delivers maximum performance and fuel efficiency. This model is a robust and comfortable road companion for long-haul transport professionals. It features a 430-horsepower engine, a reinforced chassis, and a comfortable cab. Its launch price is set at 99 million FCFA, valid until December 31, 2025.
The Ford Trucks 4143 D, meanwhile, is an 8x4 construction dump truck specifically designed for the building and public works, quarrying, and sand pit sectors. This model offers exceptional durability and reliability on challenging terrain. It is equipped with a 430-horsepower engine. Its launch price is 120 million FCFA including VAT.
A first in Sub-Saharan Africa
Following Morocco, Ford Trucks has chosen Senegal to market its brand through Caetano Senegal, its official importer. According to Mr. Ousseynou Diop, Head of Trucks and Equipment at Caetano Senegal, this is a first in sub-Saharan Africa.
“Ford Trucks arrived in Africa through Morocco. The factory is based in Turkey and the first country to market Ford Trucks in Africa was Morocco. So, this is a first for Senegal and it is an honor to go through Caetano,” explained Ousseynou Diop.
He adds: "These are automated trucks that are coming in strong and shaking up the hierarchy. Because, he argues, in Senegal, companies are used to buying Renault Trucks or Mercedes. These are certainly reliable competitors, but Ford Trucks has arrived with a different strategy, with the same level of quality at more accessible prices."
According to the head of trucks and equipment at Caetano Senegal, these two premium brands are within reach of large Senegalese companies. "It's a significant investment, but it will yield a greater return. And large companies, in general, prioritize quality," Mr. Diop asserted.
In this context, the head of trucks and equipment addressed a message to his partners. "The message we are sending to our partners is not to be afraid of the price, because the price is there, yes. But behind the price lies something: it's a return on investment. And these trucks are built to last," he declared.
Mr. Diop also announced that for every purchase of one of these trucks, Caetano also offers the buyer one year of AXA insurance.
