Encore une bonne nouvelle pour le Sénégal. Un gisement de gaz de bonne qualité a été découvert à Sangomar.
C’est ce qu’a annoncé le géant pétrolier américain, Conoco Phillips, spécialisé dans l’extraction de gaz et de pétrole, lundi à Houston, dans le siège de ladite société. Selon « Grand Place » qui relaye l’information livrée par la « Rfm », la découverte n’était pas l’objectif principal de la recherche. Mais, le miracle a surgi à travers de réserves de sable porteuses de gaz en bonne qualité avec une épaisseur de 26 pieds.

Chairman
Mr Matthews has over 10 years’ experience in chairman and director positions, having been on the board of a number of listed manufacturing and technology companies, including FTSE 250 LSE listed company FKI Plc. He has previously held senior management positions at Cosworth Group, Rolls Royce and Bentley Motor Cars, and has served as a Member of the Vickers Group Executive Board.
He is currently Chairman of LSE listed Porvair Plc, a specialist filtration technologies business in the aerospace and general engineering sectors. Mr Matthews holds a BSc in Geography and Oceanography from the University of Wales, as well as an MBA from Cranfield Business School and a Strategic Marketing qualification from Harvard Business School.
Jens Pace

Mr Pace is a highly regarded geoscientist, who has had a successful career at BP Exploration Operating Company Limited ("BP"), and its heritage company Amoco (UK) Exploration Company, spanning over 30 years. Mr Pace has held senior positions at BP for over 10 years, gaining substantial exploration and production experience in Africa, namely Algeria, Angola, Congo, Gabon and Libya, having also extended experience in Europe, Russia and Trinidad. He has contributed to a number of BP's exploration discoveries over his career, and has managed a very large and active exploration portfolio for BP in Africa. Additionally, Mr Pace has gained highly sought after experience in the areas of field development and as a commercial manager, dealing with national oil companies and African governments. Mr Pace holds a BSc in Geology and Oceanography from the University of Wales and an MSc in Geophysics from Imperial College, London. Mr Pace joined African Petroleum as Chief Operating Officer in October 2012 and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in September 2015.
Stephen West
Executive Director & CFO
Mr West is a qualified Chartered Accountant who holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Business Law) from Curtin University of Technology in Australia. He has over 22 years of financial and corporate experience gained in public practice, oil and gas, mining and investment banking spanning Australia, United Kingdom, Europe, CIS and Africa. Mr West is currently a non-executive director of ASX listed Apollo Consolidated Limited (a mining exploration company with permits in Australia and Cote d'Ivoire) and Zeta Petroleum plc (a oil and gas exploration and production company with permits in Romania). Mr West joined African Petroleum as Finance Director in October 2013 and recently changed his title to Chief Financial Officer.
David King
Non-Executive Director
Dr King is a professional geoscientist and has over 30 years experience in oil and gas and other natural resources industries. He has co-founded, as well as held executive and non-executive board positions with, a number of successful ASX listed oil and gas exploration companies, including Eastern Star Gas Limited, Gas2Grid Limited and Sapex Limited. He is a Fellow at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, and Australian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy and a Chartered Professional (Management). Dr King has an MSc in Geophysics from Imperial College, London, and a PhD in Seismology from the Australian National University, Canberra.
Dr King is currently non-executive Chairman of two ASX listed companies; gold exploration company Robust Resources Limited, and biotechnology research and development company, Cellmid Limited. He is also a non-executive director of ASX listed Republic Gold Limited, a gold exploration and development company with assets in Mozambique, and a Director of unlisted Shale Oil/Gas explorer Tamboran Resources. In a long corporate career, he has also served as Managing Director of ASX listed gold producer North Flinders Mines, and CEO of Oil/Gas producers Beach Petroleum and Claremont Petroleum.
Bjarne Moe

Mr Bjarne Moe has over 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry including being the former Director General of the Oil and Gas Department of the Ministry of Petroleum, Norway. Since 2011, Mr Moe has been an advisor to the oil and gas industry and has had several large, international companies as clients.
Timothy Turner
Non-Executive Director
Qualifications B.Bus, FCPA, FTIA, Registered Company Auditor, Fellow of CPA Australia and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Mr Turner is a senior partner with Australian accounting firm, Hewitt Turner & Gelevitis. Mr Turner specialises in domestic business structuring, corporate and trust tax planning and the issuing of audit opinions. Mr Turner has in excess of 21 years’ experience in new ventures, capital raisings and general business consultancy. Mr Turner is also a Non-Executive Director of ASX listed entities Cape Lambert Resources Limited and Legacy Iron Limited and a Non-Executive Director of NSX listed International Petroleum Limited.
Anthony Wilson

Qualifications - Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Mr Wilson has had a long career in a number of senior financial positions. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant, he initially became a partner in general practice before moving into the investment banking sector initially with Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt & Co, the stockjobber, and latterly with BZW, the investment banking division of Barclays. Mr Wilson was Finance Director for BZW Securities and BZW Asset Management over a period of 10 years.
