From November 12 to 14, 2025, the Rwandan capital will become the stage for a major reflection on the future of African trade. The Afreximbank Compliance Forum (ACF2025), organized in partnership with the National Bank of Rwanda, will bring together experts, regulators, and financial stakeholders around a decisive issue: how artificial intelligence can transform compliance and create a more transparent and secure trading environment.

 

Africa, often stigmatized for its vulnerabilities to illicit financial flows and regulatory failures, intends through this meeting to affirm its capacity to build a credible and competitive system.

By automating transaction monitoring and detecting suspicious behavior, artificial intelligence promises to ease the burden on institutions, reduce human error, and strengthen trust between economic partners.

 

But the ambition goes beyond technology alone. Behind the exploration of digital tools lies the desire to place the continent in a globalized economy where transparency is becoming a core value.

By strengthening its compliance mechanisms, Africa hopes to attract more investment, streamline its trade and secure the gateways that connect it to major international markets.

 

The choice of Kigali to host the event was not accidental. A city that symbolizes efficiency and innovation in governance, it reflects this aspiration to combine rigor and modernity.

ACF2025 thus promises to be a founding moment, where the image of a continent that no longer wants to be subject to the rules of global trade is emerging, but which seeks to reinvent them in the light of its own ambitions.
