Coup d’Etat déjoué au Bénin : Deux hauts gradés retenus par les mutins, libérés
In Benin, the perpetrators of yesterday's failed coup, Sunday, December 7th, took the army chief of staff, General Abou Issa, and Colonel Gomina Faizou, head of the national guard, hostage. According to RFI's correspondent in Cotonou, the Beninese army managed to extract these two high-ranking officers from the mutineers.
They were released overnight between Sunday and Monday, December 8th, specifically around 2:00 AM. According to the same source, they are currently in the northern part of the country and are expected to return to Cotonou on Monday. For the time being, the leader of the mutineers, Lieutenant Colonel Pascal Tigri, is nowhere to be found.
