RDC : L’Union africaine condamne le massacre de civils au Nord-Kivu
The African Union (AU) has strongly condemned the attack carried out on the night of 8 to 9 September by ADF rebels against the village of Ntoyo, in North Kivu (DRC), which left at least 71 civilians dead.
AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf denounced the "heinous attack" and reiterated that these recurring acts of violence constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law. He called for the perpetrators to be identified and prosecuted in order to end impunity.
The AU reaffirmed its solidarity with the Congolese people and its commitment to support national, regional and international efforts to restore peace and stability in the Great Lakes region.
