DIP DOUNDOU GUISS vs NGAKA BLINDÉ : Une dualité sans fin

Who can decide between Dip Doundou Guiss and Ngaka Blindé? Emblematic figures of Galsen rap, these two rappers never cease to impress music lovers. They have managed to establish themselves in Senegalese hip-hop. Their talent is no longer in doubt.

There's a great deal of duality between Dip Doundou Guiss and Ngaka Blindé. Each claims to be the best rapper in Senegal. This coexistence has ultimately led to a clash between the son of Grand-Yoff and the darling of Guédiawaye.

They often spar, but only within the rules. This duality that opposes them is still far from over. Even if sometimes they seem to calm things down.

This weekend, Dip and Ngaka once again rocked the Galsen Rap scene. The Grand-Yoff native struck again with his music video titled "Dungeen Daj." A hit rich in lyrics, colors, and lights, in which he clashes and demonstrates his supremacy over other Senegalese rappers. A video well-loved by fans and music lovers. Because, in just 15 hours, it garnered 399,531 views.

While we were expecting a very salty response from King Baba, he failed to deliver, releasing, the same day, a music video called "Actu locale." Featuring Matadi, Ngaka Blindé returned to the country's current events. This hit garnered 332,842 views in 13 hours. But Ngaka's release left some music lovers wanting more, as they expected him to respond to Dip Doundou Guiss's clash.

These two music videos have revived the appetite for Galsen Rap. On social media and in public spaces, everyone has been talking about these hits and the performances of the two rappers. While some consider Dip to be the best, others find Ngaka to be far more talented. It would be difficult to separate these two Galsen Rap icons. What is certain is that each of them has won a trophy for best artist. In 2016, Dip Doundou Guiss won the trophy for best male artist at the Galsen Hip-hop Awards.

He also won an award at the World Al Film Festival in Nice for his music video "Thiaroye 44" in April 2025.

Similarly, Ngaka Blindé won the Best Rap Artist trophy at the 2024 African Academy Awards, confirming his status in the African music scene. He is also nicknamed King Baba, although not a formal trophy in the sense of an award, but to denote his dominant position and influence in Galsen Rap.
