« Echos d’un voyage » : Waly Ndiaye dévoile son odyssée intime
Waly Ndiaye's book "Echoes of a Journey - From Mboro to UGB, then France" is available for pre-order before its scheduled release on March 19th. The book recounts a personal journey between Senegal and France through a narrative presented as an intimate odyssey.
The back cover presents the book as an autobiographical account exploring childhood, university education, and the experience of migration. The text recounts the journey from the backstreets of his childhood, through Gaston Berger University, to his settling in France, with a focus on "illusions, struggles, and successes." The work is presented as a "guide" for those leaving their hometown or country in search of bearings and meaning, combining a personal dimension with a universal scope.
Without a text, the author describes the approach and scope of his story: “While this story draws on my student journey between Senegal and France, it speaks to anyone who has ever left their city or country to pursue their goals elsewhere.” Waly Ndiaye elaborates: “I share the milestones that mark these paths: the opportunities, the setbacks, and this quest for legitimacy to stand tall in a host country, even though our mindsets and migration policies often complicate matters.” According to the information gathered, the book addresses themes related to emancipation, perseverance, humility, and personal fulfillment.
Waly Ndiaye was born in Mboro, Senegal, and has lived in France since 2013. He works as a lawyer and regulatory compliance officer. He holds two Master's degrees, one in Corporate Law and the other in Business Law and Ethics. His career has taken him to the Renault Group as well as to French subsidiaries of international groups such as Allianz, Ikea, and Volkswagen.
