El Hadj Mansour Mbaye : Le grand sage du Sénégal célèbre son anniversaire
This Friday, October 17, 2025, Senegal celebrates an icon: El Hadj Mansour Mbaye, president of traditional communicators and emblematic figure of the national media landscape.
October 17 marks the birthday of Patriarch El Hadj Mansour Mbaye. A man whose life's experience has fueled opinions, advice, and prayers that matter to millions of Senegalese. With a rare humility, he never expects the praise and thanks he deserves, preferring to distribute them generously to others whenever he speaks.
This man of international stature, celebrated by his family and friends, is one of those wise men who know how to speak to the people, in moments of joy as well as in times of sorrow.
El Hadji Mansour is a renowned patriot, capable of rising above partisan divides. A fervent Talibè Cheikh, trained by the Tivaouane school, his immense open-mindedness ensures him respected entry into all the religious families of the country.
A multidimensional man, El Mansour Mbaye is simply a must-see on the political scene. His influence spans the ages: from Lamine Guèye to Léopold Sédar Senghor, including Abdou Diouf, Abdoulaye Wade, and Macky Sall.
His works earned him the title of "Man of the Year 2006" by the municipality of Rufisque during the third edition of the Recognition Gala. The initiator of the event, the deputy mayor of Ndiawar Touré, praised the value of this great man and the spotlight on his approach, which he described as a "galvanizing act" for those who aspire to play major roles in our country.
It is also thanks to this distinction that the current general caliph of Tidianes, Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour, chaired a religious conference in his honor, at the Sorano National Theater, testifying to the spiritual dimension and the respect that the religious community has for him.
The legacy of El Hadji Mansour Mbaye is now set in stone. Several streets, avenues, and buildings bear his name: the former BCEAO roundabout, renamed Place El Hadji Mansour Mbaye by the mayor of the Medina, Bamba Fall; the El Hadji Mansour Mbaye studio of Sen TV; and, more recently, Avenue Biscuiterie, which also bears his name.
The entire nation celebrates this great man, pays homage to him and prays to God to keep him among us for a long time to come.
