Festival Porlahla de Côte d'Ivoire : La délégation de Niamone marque les esprits à Kouto
The participation of the commune of Niamone (Bignona department) in the Porlahla festival in Kouto, Ivory Coast, is attracting considerable attention. The delegation of about fifty people, led by Mayor Atab Badji, stands out as one of the most visible presences at this festival.
Between gratitude and satisfaction with the welcome received, the mayor of Niamone highlighted the diplomatic role and the assumed cultural identity of this mission that he is leading in Ivorian soil.
The town of Kouto was transformed into a true cultural crossroads during the Porlahla festival, where the Senegalese presence did not go unnoticed. The Senegalese delegation, like those of the other delegations, quickly attracted the attention of the Ivorian public from the very beginning of the festivities.
Aware of the significance of this participation, the mayor was keen to pay tribute to his fellow citizens and constituents who contributed to the success of this cultural and diplomatic mission. "We extend our thanks to the Senegalese people and the residents of Niamone for their unwavering support and the trust they have placed in us. During the opening ceremony, I was deeply moved by the warm welcome extended to our delegation. In fact, for some, it seems as if Senegal initiated this event," confided the mayor of this town in the Bignona department.
This Friday, February 6, 2026, for one hour, the Niamone festival-goers will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Bainouk and the Casamance region, in front of an audience eager to taste the delights of all the cultural diversity of Senegal.
