Gastronomie et médias : Le prestigieux concours international revient, le Sénégal remet ses titres en jeu
One of the biggest cultural competitions in Africa and the Caribbean returns in 2026. In a press release, the Organizing Committee announced the extension of applications for this year's edition.
"The Organizing Committee of the 7th edition of the World Cup of Cultural Press announces the extension of the application deadline until April 30, 2026. This decision follows requests from numerous participants, in order to allow them to finalize higher quality productions. Scheduled from July 13 to 19, 2026, this edition is placed under the theme "Traditional Gastronomy, Connecting Peoples", highlighting the role of cuisine as a vector of rapprochement between cultures, beyond political or social differences," the document informs us.
In the same vein, the composition of the official jury will be announced in the coming days. Their mission will be to select the world champions in print, digital, radio, and television journalism. The evaluation criteria will focus on impeccable writing quality, adherence to the required formats (3 minutes for audiovisual, 3,000 characters for digital, and 5,000 characters for written), as well as creativity and originality.
This edition also marks the opening of the succession of the Senegalese Fatou Diouf, winner of the 6th edition and current Director of the communication department of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Transport and Rural Development of Senegal.
It is worth recalling that Seneweb won the Grand Prize for best cultural media of the year in 2024 at this prestigious international competition, not to mention Senegal's victory in this competition for the last three years.
