La légende Baaba Maal reçu par les diplomates britanniques et belges
Senegalese music legend and cultural ambassador Baaba Maal made several significant visits and audiences this week with European diplomatic missions in Senegal on Thursday, May 21.
The leader of Dandé Léniol was welcomed at the British Ambassador's residence by Her Excellency Carine Robarts in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The same welcome was extended to the Wallonia-Brussels delegation by Jean-François Pakula, the delegate general.
These meetings focused on cultural diplomacy, development, cultural exchange, education, and desertification. It was an opportunity for the Senegalese music star to reconnect with representatives of culture and diplomacy. According to the British Ambassador, Carine Robarts, Baaba Maal commands respect and esteem because of his legendary and universally acclaimed career.
It was in this context that the Delegate General of Wallonia-Brussels expressed his gratitude to the Senegalese artist. Several projects in the fields of culture and education were discussed between the star and the diplomats, including the international festival "Les Blues du fleuve" scheduled for next December, among other activities focused on sustainable development and education.
Baaba Maal is considered the King of yéla and the ambassador of halpular music to the world with some thirty albums and honorary distinctions.
