Salon international Top Resa de Paris : Racine Sy plaide l'attractivité du Sénégal en prélude aux JOJ Dakar 2026
The 47th edition of IFTM Top Resa kicked off at the Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles in Paris. Since its creation in Deauville in 1979, this show has become one of the essential events for tourism and hospitality professionals. Since 2008, it has taken a decisive turn by moving to the French capital and expanding its scope to cover all segments of the sector: leisure, business, MICE, groups, and digital.
This 2025 edition confirmed the event's appeal. With 170 destinations represented, 17,000 brands exhibited, and more than 34,000 professionals in attendance, the show maintains its status as an international platform. No fewer than 13,090 business meetings were recorded over an area of 33,000 m².
The opening ceremony itself took on a festive air. To the rhythm of bachata, a nod to the Dominican Republic, the guest of honor, its Minister of Tourism, David Collado, called for "looking at convergences rather than differences," a message in keeping with this year's theme: "Forces in Action! Let's Build Desirable Bridges."
Remarkable participation from Senegal
Senegal, faithful to the event, marked this 47th edition with a strong mobilization. Led by the Senegalese Agency for Tourism Promotion (ASPT), the delegation brings together both public actors, including Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), Air Senegal and the Civil Aviation Authority (ANACIM) as well as numerous private operators grouped together in FOPITS, the Federation of Employer Organizations of the Tourism and Hotel Industry, chaired by Mamadou Racine SY.
The presence of FOPITS President Racine SY is part of a specific dynamic: to strengthen the country's international visibility in the run-up to the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which Dakar is preparing to host, a first for Africa.
This ambition also aligns with the 2050 Transformation Agenda, led by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, who intend to make tourism a central lever for development and international influence.
Strategy and partnerships
At the Senegal stand, B2B meetings between private sector professionals multiplied. These exchanges were complemented by strategic meetings with potential partners, aimed at increasing the country's competitiveness in the international market.
The message is clear: by strengthening cooperation between public and private actors and by increasing the number of bridges with its partners, Senegal intends to position itself as a leading tourist destination, capable of attracting visitors and investors throughout the year.
