"Yakaar Bou Tass" : Des punchlines Ngaaka Blindé qui résonnent comme un cri contre le régime, l'injustice et l'homosexualité
With his sharp and direct lyrics, rapper Ngaaka Blindé has established himself as one of the most critical voices on the Senegalese rap scene. In his new track " Yakaar Bou Tass ," which has gone viral, the artist delivers hard-hitting punchlines denouncing social inequality, youth poverty, political repression, the 18 Senegalese football fans detained in Morocco, injustice, and homosexuality—topical issues that have captivated Senegal.
"Touké private jet doumako meune ci rew mou torokh." Through this phrase, the rapper contrasts the luxurious lifestyle of certain leaders with the reality of a country marked by economic hardship. The private jet here becomes the symbol of a power disconnected from the daily concerns of its citizens.
In another punchline, he refers to the Senegalese supporters detained in Morocco since the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final. "Sa dome yi démone dieuli coupe bi bobou ba légui niou ngui diélou Maroc." Here, the rapper denounces the silence of state authorities regarding the situation of these young people who were on a mission for their country.
"Ndaw bou niakké kheuy ngouram moko diaay." For the artist, youth unemployment is a direct consequence of failing governance. Ngaka Blindé goes further, denouncing the violence during the demonstrations. "Bo fi nguéné doore ay khér, di naniou la door ay balles," suggesting a disproportionate use of force in the face of social protests. Ngaka is alluding to the university crisis that cost the life of student Abdoulaye Bâ.
By evoking these events, Ngaaka Blindé situates his discourse within a collective memory marked by painful episodes.
Like other figures in Senegalese rap, Ngaaka is part of a musical tradition where lyrics become a tool for protest. His new single, widely shared on social media, fuels public debate and demonstrates the central role of urban music in expressing social frustrations.
Between political denunciation and social commentary, these punchlines reflect the unease of a part of Senegalese society, in search of justice, employment and future prospects.
