Ziguinchor et Saint-Louis s'apprêtent à accueillir deux festivals majeurs

The cities of Saint-Louis and Ziguinchor are preparing to each host a major festival of high cultural significance, with the participation of many festival-goers from the sub-region.

From December 15th to 21st, Ziguinchor, the capital of the South, will pulsate to the rhythm of the Kom Kom festival. Organized by the GIE Goorgorlou, this event is considered the largest cultural gathering in the region and will take place in the legendary Bambaya square.

Beyond its artistic aspect, the Kom Kom festival, as its name suggests, actively contributes to the promotion of tourism in the locality and as a Senegalese destination.

In the same vein, the city of Saint-Louis, renowned for its rich culture and history, will host the Métissons Festival from November 28 to 29. This event is an integral part of the region's cultural calendar. Numerous international artists will participate in this festival, which offers a true feast for tourists and culture enthusiasts.

The two festival directors, Khalifa Dramé for the Kom Kom festival and Ababacar Gueye for Métissons, were interviewed this week. Together, they discussed the challenges and innovations of these two major cultural events.
