Pout : Deux jeunes arrêtés avec du chanvre indien après le vol présumé d’une moto Jakarta
Brought before the court of flagrant offenses of the High Court of Thiès, D. Traoré, 25, a repeat offender, and O. Ciss, 23, answered to the charges of theft of a Jakarta motorcycle to the detriment of Mr. Thiam, as well as for possession and use of Indian hemp.
According to the investigation, the two young men were arrested in Pout in possession of two packets of marijuana. The motorcycle belonging to the plaintiff was found at their home.
In court, the defendants contested the charges. They stated that they had discovered the motorcycle parked in front of Mr. Thiam's chicken coop. According to them, they had taken it home to keep it safe, intending to find its owner. They denied any theft.
Speaking in court, the plaintiff explained that upon leaving his chicken coop and noticing his motorcycle was missing, he followed the tire tracks to the defendants' home. He then went to the police station to report the theft. Officers dispatched to the scene seized the motorcycle, which was later returned to its owner, and arrested the suspects.
Considering the facts established, the prosecution requested two years of imprisonment, including one year of mandatory imprisonment, against each of the two defendants.
The verdict is expected in the coming days.
