Etats-Unis : « Appelez le 911 », un enfant sauve sa mère en passant un mot à un chauffeur de bus

In the United States, a child handed a ticket to his bus driver to ask for help, an action that helped rescue his kidnapped mother.

In the United States, a simple note scribbled by a child helped save his mother from domestic violence in Iowa. On Wednesday morning, a first-grade student in the Sumner-Fredericksburg school district discreetly handed his bus driver a note asking him to call 911. According to local ABC News affiliate KCRG, this gesture prompted the swift intervention of the Fayette County Sheriff.

When deputies arrived at the family's Westgate home, they discovered a critically injured woman. An investigation revealed she had been beaten throughout the night, threatened with a knife, and prevented from seeking help. A medical examination revealed two fractured ribs and a punctured lung.

Domestic violence and kidnapping

The suspect, Glenroy Miller, 29, of the Bahamas, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with domestic violence with intent to cause serious bodily harm, second-degree kidnapping with a knife, and obstructing an emergency communication. He is also under detention by ICE, the U.S. immigration service.

Authorities said the victim, who was being held against her will, had devised the scheme to alert the outside world. Without her child's quick thinking and the bus driver's immediate reaction, the outcome could have been tragic.
