Plainte contre le Premier ministre Ousmane Sonko : L'Union des panafricanistes sénégalais dénonce une atteinte à la solidarité gouvernementale
The Union of Senegalese Pan-Africanists (UPS) has decided to officially file a complaint against Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko with the prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar for "assessment of facts undermining government solidarity and the proper functioning of the State".
The UPS denounces "exceptionally serious events which implicate Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko in the exercise of his functions within the Executive."
According to Bougar Diouf, "we have observed that the Prime Minister, in the context of an essential economic tour led by the President of the Republic on the national territory, refused to travel and accompany the Head of State, H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in clear violation of the fundamental principles of collaboration, government solidarity and respect for institutional protocol."
"These actions, if left unaddressed, constitute a serious breach of the duty of cooperation within the Executive, essential to the stability and proper functioning of the institutions; an attack on governmental solidarity, a cardinal principle of any Republic worthy of the name, an institutional insubordination likely to compromise the harmonious functioning of the State and to jeopardize the general interest," he continued.
The UPS invites the prosecutor to open an investigation in order to verify the reality and legal scope of the reported facts; to assess whether there is an applicable criminal or administrative qualification; to take, where appropriate, all judicial or administrative measures deemed to be in accordance with the law and the higher interest of the nation.
Bougar Diouf and his colleagues emphasize that the gravity of these events transcends the political sphere and directly concerns the protection of institutions and respect for the Constitution. They also state that their party "is at the disposal of the public prosecutor's office to provide any information or documents useful in establishing the truth."
