Adama Sarr sur la bagarre de Bilal Diatta : "Les populations de Keur Massar ne méritent pas cela"
The mayor of Keur Massar North, Adama Sarr, has finally broken his silence following the incidents that occurred this weekend during the eviction around the Keur Massar flyover. Tensions had erupted between the mayor of Keur Massar South, Bilal Diatta, and journalists who had come to cover the operation initiated by the Ministry of the Interior.
"This is an eviction operation launched by the Minister of the Interior, Maître Bamba Cissé. We were informed by the sub-prefect of the Malika district 48 hours beforehand. It was not an initiative of the Keur Massar Nord commune. But we had to prepare the traders to avoid loss of equipment," explained Mayor Adama Sarr.
The mayor assures that he has mobilized his team and his office to support the operation by providing logistical resources.
"All the trucks that participated in the operation were deployed by the municipality of Keur Massar Nord," he said.

Returning to the incident that erupted with his counterpart from Keur Massar Sud, Bilal Diatta, Adama Sarr clarified: "There is no disagreement between Mayor Bilal Diatta and me. What interests me is taking care of the affairs of my commune and the needs of my population. What happened was just a misunderstanding."
According to the mayor of the commune of Keur Massar Nord, the tension arose during the organization of the press briefing after the operation.
"It was supposed to be held at the Keur Massar Sud town hall, which I accepted without any problem. But Mayor Bilal Diatta did not want to do it with me and the other authorities. It is an unfortunate incident that I deplore and the people of Keur Massar do not deserve this," he regretted.
