En Conseil des ministres : Ousmane Sonko lance une réforme nationale pour sécuriser les documents administratifs
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko presented, this Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, a strategic project concerning the security of official state documents, in response to vulnerabilities deemed worrying in the Senegalese administration.
He painted a bleak picture of the current situation. "He presented an overview of the current functioning of the Administration, marked by the circulation of insufficiently secure documents, the lack of standardization of procedures, the heterogeneity of media, and the absence of robust traceability mechanisms. He emphasized that these vulnerabilities concern documents of high strategic and legal value, including diplomas and certificates, passports, driver's licenses and national identity cards, as well as documents with financial implications," according to the statement from the Council of Ministers.
Thus, Ousmane Sonko has "advocated the establishment of an integrated national system for securing administrative documents. The objective of the reform undertaken is to secure administrative documents by guaranteeing, in a systematic and verifiable manner, their authenticity, integrity, traceability and legal value."
According to the press release, this reform is based on several pillars, namely "the definition of national document security standards, the establishment of secure production chains, the integration of physical and digital protection devices, the securing of data and personalization processes, as well as the establishment of accessible and reliable verification systems."
