Mise en accusation de Macky Sall : Pourquoi l’Assemblée a rejeté la proposition de Guy Marius Sagna
The National Assembly's office has justified its rejection of the motion for a resolution to impeach Macky Sall, introduced by MP Guy Marius Sagna. In a statement reporting on its work on Monday, October 27, the parliamentary institution reported that it had examined eight parliamentary initiatives (bills, the opening of a commission of inquiry, and a motion for a resolution to impeach a former head of state, among others), seven of which were declared inadmissible.
This decision, the parliament's office emphasizes, "is mainly motivated by the failure to comply with the provisions of Articles 51 and 69, and in particular Article 103 of the Rules of Procedure." This provides: "The Assembly may include on its agenda the discussion of resolutions presented by one of its committees, a parliamentary group or a number of non-attached members equal to one tenth of the members of the Assembly."
The office also encourages members to submit new requests, but this time in accordance with the Rules of Procedure.
