Affaire Tabaski Ngom : L'ancien ministre Moustapha Diop nie tout et réclame des preuves
Charged with conspiracy, fraud involving public funds estimated at 300 million CFA francs, and money laundering, former Minister of Industrial Development Moustapha Diop was brought from prison on Thursday. The mayor of Louga was presented before the panel of investigating judges of the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF) for a substantive hearing in the Tabaski Ngom case.
Tabaski Ngom, a former private accountant at Aprosi and then at the Electricity Sector Regulatory Commission (CRSE), is being prosecuted for embezzling 766 million FCFA in public funds. Placed in pretrial detention, Ngom, who filed the complaint, stated that she had handed over 300 million FCFA of the embezzled funds to finance Moustapha Diop's campaign for the November 2024 legislative elections.
According to Seneweb, Moustapha Diop categorically denied the accusations against him before the investigating magistrate. He maintained that he had not received any funds from Tabaski Ngom and asserted that the organization had no evidence to support its claims.
The hearing was held in the presence of the deputy financial public prosecutor, Abdoulaye Diouf.
For the continuation of the investigation, a confrontation between Moustapha Diop and Tabaski Ngom will be organized in order to allow the judge to shed more light on the facts.
