Mr. Aboubacar Sedikhe SY is a native of Saint-Louis.

Educational background :

Having studied humanities in his native Saint-Louis, his brilliance in secondary and higher education earned him nicknames, notably "SY Larousse," given to him by his History-Geography teacher, the eminent Professor Alpha DATT. And in France, his friends affectionately called him "SY la science."

Upon obtaining his baccalaureate with honors, he entered the preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles Maths Supérieures/Maths Spéciales in Brest. He was admitted by competitive examination to ISTOM/Le Havre (France), from where he graduated with the Diploma of Higher Studies in Economics and Management, with publication in the official journal of the French Republic.

Academic background

He then joined the University of Haute Alsace/Mulhouse (France), from where he graduated with Higher Education Diplomas in Transport and Logistics, with honors; in International Trade, with honors; and a DEA in Marketing, with honors.

Distinguished executive career

Upon his return to Senegal, Mr. SY successively held the following positions:

. Executive at Socopao-Senegal (which became Bolloré Africa Logistics then AGL: Africa Global Logistics );

. Commercial Director of the SOMICOA-Smith and Kraft Group;

. Director of Transit at Express Transit;

. Sales Director of Manutrans International;

Deputy Director of Marketing at Sotiba-Simpafric (18 billion turnover at the time).

He then set up the Sylex firm (specializing in Marketing and Communication), before launching Senegal's first Business School, the Supdeco Dakar Group, in 1993.

As CEO and Founder of the Supdeco Group, Mr. SY assumes high responsibilities in the Senegalese private sector:

Vice-president in charge of “Strategy and Development” of the Dakar Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (CCIAD);

Honorary President of La Linguère de Saint-Louis, which he led for 11 years during which the team was crowned winner of the Senegal Cup and the Professional League Championship;

Former President of the Central Finance Commission of the Senegalese Football Federation;

Former member of the Football Normalization Committee (12 members appointed by the State), responsible for reforming and normalizing Senegalese football in crisis.

On August 26, 2015, he received the distinction and title of “Companion of the Sign Holders”;

Also in 2015, he was Knight of the National Order of the Lion;

. On April 21, 2018, he was crowned Lat Dior d'Or (highest distinction) by UNACOIS JAPPO (National Union of Traders and Industrialists of Senegal), • In 2023, Mr. SY was promoted to the rank of Officer of the National Order of the Lion.
